Examples of different level tornadoes of the Enhanced Fujita Scale that I have documented. The Enhanced Fujita Scale provides an estimated range of tornadic wind speeds based on damage left behind. The scale rates tornado intensity from EF0 (weakest) to EF5 (strongest) based on damage severity and estimated wind speeds. It replaced the original Fujita scale in the US in 2007 to better align wind speeds with storm damage. The EF scale considers more variables, including 28 damage indicators (DIs)

Chasing a Multi-Vortex Tornado inside the bear's cage! I don't usually end up this close. We had to drive East and South quickly to get out of the way before it crossed the road and turned into a large tornado. It's always important to have and escape route when tracking tornadoes! This tornado was rated an F-3, before the enhanced fujita scale was put into use.
